Consistent Distance Control

i2 philosophy improved accuracy distance control enhanced feel

Our new Helix Tour™ shafts deliver more consistent distance control by improving the weight/torque progression between heavy/low-torque iron shafts, and much lighter/higher-torque graphite driver shafts. The technology behind the Helix Tour product line allows players to create a more linear progression between irons and drivers, improving consistency and repeatability by making changes between clubs less dramatic. (see graph)

The PGA Tour is the best place to find empirical evidence of this claim. For decades, tour players have played "constant weight" shafts in their irons to help manage distance control with different clubs. The weight, balance and overall feel of iron sets are designed to be as consistent as possible to help make each shot as controlled and repeatable as possible. However, many current hybrid shafts are as much as 45 grams lighter than the iron shaft closest in the set. This creates challenges in maintaining consistent results when switching back and forth between irons and hybrids.
